CSUSA-Indiana was successful in being awarded the project to disconnect, demo and remove and existing hot water heating system including radiators and wall fin heaters located throughout the church.  Not only was the hydronic heating system to be replaced, but also install a new VRF air conditioning system within the church. The main task going into the project was to complete it within a very tight schedule as well as to install without changing the historical look of the facility and to have the equipment operate so that it was not noticeable to the ear and eye. Brandt Construction acted as the General Contractor and Construction Manager for this project. Comfort Systems USA Indiana was the mechanical contractor (performed HVAC and Plumbing work) for this project. 


The CSUSA Indiana Team:

·         Installed nearly a mile of refrigeration piping complete with insulation, hangers and supports.

·         Installed over four semi truckloads of pre-assembled sheet metal.

·         Installed 1/2 mile of carbon steel hot water piping complete with insulation, hangers and supports.

·         Drilled numerous core drill holes as well as cut rectangular openings in 18” & 20” concrete with steel reinforced walls and floors.

·         Removed eight giant cast iron radiators that were hidden behind a wall. CSUSA-Indiana consulted the expertise of heavy equipment / mill wright contractor Egenolf Services for this tasking.

·         CSUSA- Indiana installed (6) outdoor VRF sections heat pump outdoor systems with (26) indoor VRF fan coil units (6) Energy Recovery Ventilators and (4) Exhaust Fans 9 (2) New Hot Water Boilers complete with shot feeders with primary and secondary pumps. With an exception of the NAVE, the individual rooms have their own programmable digital thermostat.

·         CSUSA-Indiana was also tasked with installing a new restroom on the first floor of the historical facility.

·         Completed the project with zero safety incidents
